RISING PHOENIX is an emotionally powerful, inspiring documentary about the athletes of the Paralympic games and the struggles they've faced to get to where they are today. The stories, told by the athletes themselves, are incredible to hear. McDonough's "Parkland Rising" isn't the first documentary to recount the Parkland tragedy—Emily Taguchi and Jake Lefferman did so too with "After Parkland," covering many of the same beats.
The movie has its own ideas and commits to them wholeheartedly. Again, the primary setting of the movie is that of a spaceship traveling in space. With Sebastian Cavazza, Stoya, Marusa Majer, Kirsty Besterman.
An intimate relationship between a human and an android tests the boundaries of human nature. The Rising Hawk is formulaic, tiresome, unrewarding and unmemorable. All of the characterization's thin and dialogue weak, the acting's fine. Other than the brothers not getting into a quarrel over the pretty girl, it's like every other film of its kind. Poppy Drayton's has a bit of a Mary McDonnell, Jennifer Connelly sort of look. With Samantha Droke, Melanie Foust, Bob Grove, Elias Kamplain.
